Introduction
to Ayurvedic Medicine: 6 hrs.
Join
us to explore this fascinating ancient holistic science,
the “mother of all holistic modalities” so
relevant in our search for solutions to today’s
health care challenges. You will gain an understanding
of Ayurvedic principles such as your “Prakruti”,
your Ayurvedic constitutional nature and your “Vikruti” or
current state of health. We will explore the history,
philosophy and practical aspects of Ayurveda together
with an analysis of how Ayurveda can help you individualize
health care practices.
Dina
Charya: Daily Principles and Practices of Ayurveda:
12 hrs.
This
two-day retreat format emphasizes lifestyle according
to Ayurveda through a rejuvenating experiential program.
A great refresher get-away, participants experience
a weekend immersion in the philosophies and practices
of Ayurveda. Learn your Ayurvedic constitution and
discover seasonal dietary and lifestyle strategies
for everyday use. Learn to balance Vata (air element),
Pitta (fire element) and Kapha (water element) in your
body and emotions. Focus adapted to your group (e.g.,
physicians – Ayurveda and Genetics, yoga teachers – Ayurveda
and Asana, teens – Ayurveda and Relationships,
endometriosis patients – Ayurvedic Management
of Endometriosis, etc.)

Turiya
Therapy: Level I Introduction to “Marma Chikitsa” 13
hrs.
Learn
the “General Session” in Turiya Therapy,
including Basic Concepts, Assessment Techniques, Chakra
Balancing, Marma Points, Cranial Protocols, Mind/Body
Principles, and much more. Turiya Therapy has its roots
in Polarity Therapy and Ayurvedic medicine, and recognizes
unresolved emotions as pathogens while offering powerful
hands-on techniques for emotional healing. Fri. 6-9
pm, Sat. 10 am-6 pm, Sun, 2 pm-6 pm.
The
Six-Week Study Group Series : 18 hrs.
Welcome
to this evening series focused on the history and theory
of Ayurveda. It is ideal for those wanting an overview
of Ayurveda, especially for self-healing. Mondays 6pm-9pm.

Four-part
Introduction to Food Concepts in Ayurveda: 24 hrs.
Welcome
to this fun, experiential introduction to the basic
principles and recipes of simple, delicious Ayurvedic
dishes, easy to prepare at home. Saturdays 10am - 4pm.
Limit is 20 participants.
1.
Learn how to Balance Your “Dosha” with
food choices and cooking techniques. We will enjoy
lunch or supper together and experience the benefits
of our shared feast and friendship. Learn food science
in Ayurveda and how to balance Vata, Pitta and Kapha
for yourself and your family. Enjoy learning exercises,
information, recipes, friendship and much more. Our
menu features a simple Ayurvedic meal. Bring a friend.
2.
Learn Food Combining according to
Ayurveda. We will understand the Ayurvedic concepts
of “Agni” (digestive fire) and “Vipak” (post-digestive
effect), and examine factors influencing effective
digestion as a foundation for health. We will also
study “slow poisons”, a category of foods
known to leave toxic deposits at the cellular level.
Westernized dishes are featured.
3.
Discover the Secrets of the Six Tastes of
sweet, sour, salty, bitter, pungent and astringent
tastes and their implications in dietary science and
pharmacology according to Ayurveda. This class is the
most important of this four-part series, and brings
useful tips and recipes for maintaining your family’s
health in today’s busy lifestyle. Anchor previous
concepts and learn new concepts.
4. Home
Kitchen Pharmacy Learn kitchen herbs and
spices for everyday use. We will discuss commonly
available plants such as ginger, turmeric, coriander
(cilantro), licorice and many more for their culinary
and medicinal qualities. You will learn to individualize
your family’s meal planning with ease, while
enjoying delicious, practical recipes for healing,
including breakfast choices.
